KARACHI, May 22: An alleged robber was killed and two policemen were wounded in a shootout in Gulshan-i-Iqbal on Sunday night. Police said two alleged robbers on a motorbike snatched Rs400 and a mobile phone set from Wasif on University Road, who alerted two policemen on a motorbike. The policemen chased the suspects and ordered them to surrender.

Instead, they fired at the police and sped away. Mukhtar, one of the policemen was wounded.

The alleged robbers were intercepted by two other policemen near Time Square, resulting in another shootout. Another policeman Zafar Iqbal too suffered bullet wounds while one of the robbers was shot dead.
