KASUR: Six workers of a factory were injured when its boiler exploded at Kalalanwala Khao in Phoolnagar on Tuesday.

According to Rescue 1122, workers at a factory in the industrial zone of Phoolnagar were working when the boiler exploded with a bang.

As a result, Abbas, 20, Imran, 25, Sarfraz, 20, Waqar, 18, Naseem, 22, and Khalid, 30, suffered injuries. The wounded were rushed to a local hospital.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: A man injured his pregnant daughter-in-law with a sharp-edged weapon and caused a miscarriage at village Rao Khanwala in the limits of Raja Jang police station.

According to complainant Asghari Bibi of Lahore, her daughter Farzana was married to Dilshad five years back. Farzana’s father-in-law Muhammad Ismail always teased her on one pretext or the other.

On Tuesday, Ismail asked Farzana to give him the card for Benazir Income Support Programme. When Farzana could not trace the card, Ismail got infuriated and attacked her with a knife. As a result, Farzana suffered serious injuries. The suspect escaped.

Farzana was rushed to the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital.

Police registered a case against the suspect.

FIREWORKS: A child suffered injuries in fireworks at a wedding in Kasur.

Eight suspects, including the groom, were booked for violating fireworks at two different incidents on Tuesday.

The wedding guests resorted to fireworks and crackers at wedding of Noor Wali at village Dina Nath in the limits of Phoolnagar police station.

As a result of fireworks, eight-year-old Sanaullah suffered serious injuries.

He was shifted to hospital. The police booked six suspects, including the groom, Noor Wali, without any arrest.

In a separate incident, fireworks were displayed at the wedding of one Muhammad Ashfaq. The police registered a case against two suspects but did not make any arrest.

RAPED: A man allegedly raped his former wife at village Bhonikay Mor in the Pattoki police station area.

The suspect had divorced his wife about a year back. The couple had a daughter out of their three-year-long marriage.

On Tuesday, the suspect entered the house of the woman’s parents when she was alone and raped her. The police registered a case and started looking into the matter.
