Meeting on stabilizing prices

LAHORE, May 21: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi directed on Saturday immediate implementation of the action plan evolved for stabilizing prices of essential items as well as their smooth supply to the people. He was presiding over a meeting held to review implementation of the means devised to check prices of items of daily use, and the ongoing wheat procurement campaign here.

Price Control Committee chairman and Food Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal, chief secretary Kamran Rasool, industries secretary Javed Majeed, agriculture marketing special secretary Muhammad Yousaf, livestock secretary Babar Yaqoob, food director Jawad Rafique and other senior officers were present.

Mr Elahi ordered establishment of Juma Bazaars along with Sunday Bazaars for ensuring availability of quality and low-priced items of daily use to the common man. He said the process of supply of quality flour at affordable rates to the poor man under ‘Sasta Atta Scheme’ was also being accelerated.—Staff Reporter
