ISLAMABAD, May 20: Juzar Bhai Saheb stretched his majestic unbeaten run to seven victories becoming the first to qualify for the pre-finals of the Dawoodi Bhora Table Tennis Tournament late on Thursday evening. So awesome has been Juzar BS’s form that he has dropped only one game in his seven pool matches - against Huzefa Siraj - on the first day of the tournament.

The tournament is being staged by the Dawoodi Bhora community in Rawalpindi to celebrate the 94th birthday of their spiritual leader Dr. Sydena Mohammad Burhanuddin (TUS).

Defending champion Murtaza Adam Ali, with 10 points, is a strong contender from Pool A to qualify for the semifinals after he defeated Mohammad Mansoor, Hussain Mohib and Huzefa on the third day. However, it was Juzar BS who once again exhibited better technique and temperament than most of the competitors. After defeating Ali Nooruddin in straight games, Juzar BS recorded another comfortable 21-6, 21-15 win against Hussamuddin.

Only two Pool B matches were played on Thursday night. Rizwan Ehsan Ali notched up his third successive win while Hasnain Sh. Asghar Ali defeated Murtaza Sadiq Ali in what were one-sided matches.
