QUETTA: Federal Minister for Shipping and Ports Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo has said that undemocratic forces always hatch conspiracies and never allow democracy and democratic institutions to flourish.

Talking to reporters during a visit to Khuzdar on Friday, he said democratic institutions were not allowed to complete their task that people assigned them through their vote. These forces, he said, always held politicians responsible for a political turmoil.

Without naming them, Mr Bizenjo slammed the elements that created hurdles aimed at controlling the democracy and encouraged those who supported their stance.

A lack of unity and internal strife among politicians gave opportunity to undemocratic forces to derail democracy, he said, adding: “National Party is a democratic party and we have presented our stance in spite of tough situations”.

Politicians, he said, ought to frame a comprehensive course of action to counter undemocratic forces. A culture of tolerance and unity among mainstream politicians would help strengthen democratic traditions, he said.
