SUKKUR, May 20: Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed laid the foundation stone of the District Courts Complex Phase-II here on Friday. The courts complex will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs.29.946 million.

He also planted a sapling to mark the occasion.

Talking to newsmen, the Chief Justice said that his first priority was to ensure timely disposal of pending cases in various courts.

With a view to meet the shortage of judges in courts, he said efforts were underway to solve the problem as early as possible.

Earlier, the Chief Justice performed court sitting during his visit to the High Court Bench, Sukkur.

He also held a meeting with the members of the High Court Bar Association in the Bar Room and exchanged views with them and discussed problems faced by the Bar.

About disposal of pending cases, he observed that such cases be disposed of with coordinated efforts of the Bench and Bar.

The Chief Justice was accompanied by Justice Ghulam Rabbani of the Sukkur Bench during his visit to the High Court and District Court buildings.

He also attended a dinner hosted in his honour by the High Court Bar Association at the High Court lawns on Thursday night.
