Abdullah strikes gold

PESHAWAR, May 18: Abdullah Durrani of Edwards High School won two gold medals on Wednesday in the Inter-school swimming championship at Adil Khan swimming pool on Wednesday. Abdullah grabbed golds in 100 metre freestyle and 100m backstroke and a silver as well in the 100m breaststroke.

Abdullah timed 1.53:25 seconds beating Muhammad Haroon (13) to lay hands on his first gold medal.

Muhammad Haroon of Forward High School was close on his heels with 2.09:51 seconds while Kalamdin also of Edwards School made to third spot clocking 2.12:67 seconds.

Abdullah claimed the other gold clocking 2.17:66 seconds in the 100m backstroke. Jaffar of Edwards School won silver and Mirza Hasan bronze medals.

Bara Gate High School’s Nouman claimed gold in 100m breaststroke in 2.10:06 seconds. Abdullah grabbed silver and Osama of F G School, Warsak Road bronze.

In the under-15 100m freestyle Adnan Haider of Peshawar Model School and College grabbed gold, followed by Walid of Almominat Public School winning silver and Qazi Zaman of Peshawar Model School bronze medals.

In the 100m backstroke Walid of Almominat Public School won gold, Qazi Zaman silver and Zahid of City Grammar High School bronze medals.

The 100m breaststroke was won by Abdul Rehman of Muslim Public School. Yousuf of CMH High School got silver while bronze went to Edwards School’s Mohib Ali Khan.
