The cooperation project shall mainly focus on the rural electrification by means of small wind electricity generating system. The pilot project will be set up in the southern coastal region of Sindh and Balochistan in the areas which do not have access to electricity. China will design and manufacture the equipment.

Pakistan and Chinese experts will work together to carry out the installation, organize a training course for maintenance and repairing the wind turbine system after installations and to promote the technical and industrial cooperation including information dissemination and seminar organization. Initially China will supply 14 wind turbines which will be installed in the coastal areas of Sindh and Balochistan. If the experience proves successful same will be replicated at large scale in other areas of the country. This project shall be implemented by Chinese Academy of Agricultural Mechanization Sciences (CAAMS) and Pakistan Council for Renewable Energy Technology (PCRET). The project is expected to go a long way to promote the technical and industrial cooperation in the wind electricity generation filed.
