MANSEHRA: The tehsil administration of Balakot has banned wall chalking along Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road before the start of tourist season in Kaghan valley.

“We have imposed a complete ban on all sorts of wall chalking along Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road. The ban violators will be dealt with strictly under the relevant laws,” assistant superintendent of police Daniyal Faisal told a news conference in Balakot on Friday.

The ASP said notices had been served on schools, hotels and others concerned to erase the relevant wall chalking along the MNJ Road and other arteries from Garhi Habibullah to Naran area.

“If they don’t remove their advertisements within a week, strict action will be taken against them,” he said.

Mr Faisal said the deputy commissioner had already imposed Section 144 of PPC in the region to ban all sorts of wall chalking.

POCKET GUIDES SEIZED: Assistant commissioner of Oghi Shabbir Khan on Friday seized pocket guides and other written material from bookshops over the fears about their use to cheat in the ongoing matriculation examinations.

The action was taken on the orders of the provincial chief secretary.

The assistant commissioner paid surprise visits to bookshops in Oghi city and its suburbs and seized a large number of mini guides and pocket guides, which could easily be taken into examination halls.

“We cannot allow candidates to use unfair means in matriculation examinations and that’s why all such written material and guides are being seized from bookshops,” he told reporters.
