ISLAMABAD, May 18: Chairman Senate Function Committee on Human Rights Senator S.M. Zafar on Wednesday condemned the manhandling of human rights activists in Lahore. In a statement, he said the manner in which the human rights activists, who were not engaged in any unlawful activity, were treated was deplorable and condemnable.

Mr Zafar said it was deplorable that persons like the former federal law minister, chairperson and other office-bearers of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan were treated in an undignified manner.

NGOS: Civil society organizations of Rawalpindi/ Islamabad on Wednesday condemned police action against human rights activists holding a marathon to highlight the issues of women rights in Lahore.
