KARACHI: A man died while two others sustained wounds in an explosion inside a pharma factory in FB Industrial Area on Monday, police said.

The factory workers were using an “oven-like thing” to dry their material in the packing area when an explosion occurred, causing injuries to three persons, said DSP (operations) Nasir Bukhari. He said it was not a boiler explosion.

The wounded men were taken to a private hospital, where one of them, Imran Nasim, was pronounced dead.

Two other persons, identified as Liaquat and Mohammed Shoaib, were admitted for treatment. The dead and injured were factory workers. The cause of the explosion was being investigated.
