KARACHI, May 17: The Jeay Sindh Mahaz has demanded that all powers to collect revenue and imposition of tax should be transferred to federating units and the rights of Sindhi people over all its natural resources be recognized. This demand was made in resolutions adopted at a meeting held to observe the 62nd death anniversary of late Allah Bukhsh Soomro.

The meeting, presided over by JSM Chairman Abdul Khaliq Junejo, was attended among others by Yusuf Masti Khan, Nooruddin Sarki, Prof Channa, Rochiram, Hafiz Siddique Memon and Bari Mangi.

Paying tributes to late Allah Bukhsh Soomro for his leadership capabilities, who was elected chief minister for two terms, the speakers maintained that the nation could be steered out from the crisis through dedicated and sincere leadership.

Mr Junejo said late Soomro, despite a leader of Indian stature, made Sindh as centre of his politics and had served people remaining over and above class, religion and ethnic discrimination.

The JSM leader said that Sindh was passing from a critical stage where politics was dominated by feudal lords and criminals which was pushing Sindh towards destruction. He said the only way out of the present crises was to bring forward enlightened and secular leadership from middle class.
