KHAIRPUR: A class-V student was critically injured when three unknown men grabbed and manhandled him, apparently in their attempt to kidnap him, outside his school on Monday.

The boy, Shaheenul Haq, son of Advocate Abdul Haq Odho, fell unconscious while putting up stiff resistance, and suffering serious injuries, making the attackers flee.

Onlookers said that the attackers possessed firearms and they apparently tried to kidnap the boy as soon as he came out of the school to leave for home at off time.

The boy was rushed to the Khairpur Civil Hospital where doctors referred him to the Sukkur Civil Hospital due to his critical condition.
