LAHORE: The wife of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, Kulsoom Nawaz, was admitted to a hospital in London on Sunday afternoon after her condition reportedly deteriorated.

According to reports, Mr Sharif’s son, Hassan and Hussain, took their mother to the hospital where she underwent various tests. “She will remain in the hospital till her condition improves,” said a source in the family, adding that her husband and daughter, Maryam Nawaz, spoke to her over the phone to inquire about her health.

Earlier, the former first lady underwent her fifth chemotherapy session which was successful and she was allowed to go home.

Kulsoom was diagnosed with early-stage lymphoma (throat cancer) in August last year when she suddenly left for London for a check-up.

In September 2017, she won the NA-120 by-election.
