ON March 1, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) decided to deploy FC and Rangers in the vicinity of provincial assemblies and the Parliament House for conducting fair Senate polls.
This is worrisome that as a nation our elected members cannot be trusted with their obedience to the law. Their political conduct has basically triggered the ECP to take such measures.
If the representatives of our society cannot act in aproper manner when it comes to the polls, how come they sermonise the nation about the dignity of the vote? It is a matter of grave concern for our society that our elected members conform to morality under the might of security agencies rather than the returning officers.
