KARACHI, May 16: The documents for placing the police hospitals, being run by the health department, under the management of police department were signed at a ceremony held here at the governor house, on Monday evening. The documents were signed by Home Secretary Brig (retd) Mohtaram and Health Secretary Prof Dr Naushad Shaikh.

The hospitals in question will run under the management of police department from Tuesday and besides allocated budget, the CPLC will also cooperate.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Ibad said that the objective of handing over the hospital to the police department was to bring improvements and make it a part of the plan for providing welfare facilities to police and it would cast positive impacts in the future.

The governor expressed the hope that these steps would prove meaningful in enhancing the liaison and trust between people and the police. He said that this hospital would be able to meet the medical requirements of the police personnel.—APP
