HYDERABAD, May 14: Residents of Rahim Khoso village, Kotri taluka, have accused the police of harassing and threatening them with dire consequences, if they did not vacate the village and agriculture land which has been in possession of their ancestors for 100 years.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Saturday, Dilawar Khoso, Mashooq Khoso, Athar Khoso and Jam Khoso said some influential people wanted to expel them from the village and take over the possession of their 16 acres of land.

They said the Kotri police were playing in the hands of influential persons.

They said a few days back police had laid a siege to the village and resorted to aerial firing to create harassment among villagers.

They said the police had also arrested four people on the charges of resisting police.

They said they had documentary evidence to prove that they were rightful owners of the village and agricultural land.

They appealed to the Sindh chief minister, IG Sindh, RPO Hyderabad and DCO Jamshoro to take notice of highhandedness of police and provide protection to them.

Earlier, about 50 villagers staged a demonstration outside the press club in protest against police excesses.

PLEA: Residents of Allah Rakhio Solangi village, Hyderabad taluka, have appealed to authorities concerned to protect villagers against alleged highhandedness of an influential person Razzaq Shah.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Saturday, Wadero Khair Mohammad, Abdur Rehman, Abdur Razzaq, Nazar Mohammad and Mohammad Ali Solangi alleged that Razzaq Shah had tried to kidnap Razzaq Solangi and a case was registered against him at the Hatri police station on April 22.

They said the villagers were being threatened with dire consequences if the case was not withdrawn.

They appealed to authorities to take notice of the excesses of Razzaq Shah.
