KARACHI, May 14: A fruit vendor was stabbed to death over a petty matter in Saeedabad on Saturday morning. Police said Kamran Shaikh, 18, stood with his pushcart laded with fruits along the road in Sector 5-G, Saeedabad when Naeem objected to him and ordered him to take away his pushcart somewhere else.

Kamran refused to obey his orders and did not move, which led to an exchange of words. Later, Naeem attacked Kamran with a knife and stabbed him repeatedly, fled afterwards.

Kamran was shifted to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

His body was later handed over to his family. Shaikh Iqbal, father of the deceased, lodged a case of murder against the absconding suspect.

TORTURE: A principal and a teacher of a school in Korangi were booked in a case for allegedly subjecting a class IV student to torture and keeping him in solitary confinement.

Korangi police said Ishaque Ahmed lodged an FIR (211/05) against Iftikhar and Abdul Ghani, principal and teacher respectively of Sarfaraz Pilot School, Korangi for beating his son, Ishtiaque and keeping him in solitary confinement.

Ishaque stated in the FIR that his son was beaten with a stick, which resulted in an incision. His son was later not allowed to appear in the examination.

Instead, he was warned that if he told the police about it, he would be further beaten. The police, however, have not arrested any of the two teachers.
