Couple found dead on wedding night

FAISALABAD, Jan 7: A couple died under mysterious circumstances on the wedding night in Chak 209-RB, Saddar Police station area, on Sunday.

Reports reaching here revealed Akram and Azra Parveen got married on Sunday and both were found dead in a room the same day.

Members of Akram’s family explained suffocation due to smoke of coals to be the cause of the death. The girls’ relatives, on the other hand, alleged the woman’s sister-in-law poisoned them to death.

Police are investigating.

LOOTED: Highwaymen on Monday looted cash, gold ornaments and wrist watches worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from a bus passengers on the Faisalabad-Sargodha Road.

Meanwhile, Faisal Mahmood of Batala Colony and Naveed Zafar of Tariq Colony were deprived of their two-wheelers.

DEATH SENTENCE: The local Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has awarded death sentence (twice) to two persons involved in a dacoity-cum-murder case here on Monday.

According to prosecution, three people Shahid Abbas, Nasir alias Nasri and Tajammul Abbas killed Muhammad Sarwar in Chak 558-GB on resistance during a dacoity bid. They also injured Abdul Rasheed and Ali Ahmad.

The judge has awarded death sentence (twice), life imprisonment and a fine of Rs50,000 each to Shahid Abbas and Nasir.

Tajammul Abbas is still at large.
