LAHORE: A man allegedly shot dead his young sister over a property dispute in Barki here on Friday.

A police official claimed the woman, later identified as Nusrat Bibi, 37, was visiting her parents’ house in Phularwan to decide about her share in the family property. During the discussion, the victim’s brother, Shafaqat, allegedly got upset over her demands and after a heated exchange shot at her, injuring her critically. He later fled from the scene.

The family called Rescue 1122 officials who shifted Nusrat to a hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.

The body was shifted to city morgue for autopsy and a case lodged against the suspect on the complaint of his mother, Naimat Bibi.
