Food wastage

Published February 22, 2018

A FOOD and Agriculture Organisation report states that a third of the food produced worldwide is wasted for one reason or the other.

According to conservative estimates, the cost of this wasted food is around $750 billion. About 870 million people go hungry daily, while the world indulges in such wastefulness.

UN experts say that doing away with the wastage of food will have a significant impact on reducing global hunger.

In Pakistan, food is wasted due to the state’s uncaring attitude as well as this society’s love of excess. Let us not waste food anymore!
