KARACHI, May 13: Eight ships carrying chemicals, general cargo and to load ethanol are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where only two vessels, Y.M. Faha and Golden Express to unload and load containers were berthed after the departure of eight.

The ships, which departed included Cape Ferro, Corin Thaikos, Y.M. Energy, Golden Express, Sagamore, Panama Express, Weng and Le He, while Y.M. Faha, Fearless, Kota Merdesa, Pescardores Bulker, Heoic Ace and Iran Baabaei are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling was brisk owing to larger handling of liquid cargo. The total tonnage rose to 90,327 tons comprising 22,572 tons of export including 1,598 tons of rice and 375 tons of cement and 67,755 tons of import cargo.

The following ships are due to arrive on Saturday: Shalamar, with 68,000 tons of crude oil, Andino Park, to load 500 tons of ethanol, Nur Yanbu, with 4,750 tons of chemicals, Global Express and Thor Captain, with containers, Iron Butterfly Makran, and Ceren Urkmez, with general cargo.
