KHAR: Thousands of residents here on Tuesday held a demonstration against the alleged extrajudicial murder of a student from Bajaur Agency, Ahmed Shah, in Karachi a few days ago.

The protesters also threatened to hold a big protest demonstration outside the Parliament House in Islamabad if the killers of student were not arrested within two days. People from different walks of life, including workers of political parties, traders, transporters and students took part in the demo held at Inayat Kalley Bazaar.

Holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans against Karachi police, the protesters started march from different areas of the agency and gathered at the main bazaar of the region.

The protest was addressed by representatives of different political parties and trade unions, PTI leader Gul Zafar Khan, JI chief Qari Abdul Majeed, PML-N leader Khaild Khan, PPP leader Saidur Rahman, ANP leader Fatih Rahman and trade union leader Akbar Jan.

The speakers condemned the killing of Ahmed Shah in Karachi and said that he was a peaceful person and studying at the University of Karachi for the last two years. They alleged that personnel of Karachi police were behind his murder.

They said that according to the relatives and friends the victim was missing from around 9:00pm on Feb 16 after the police picked him from his place and later his body was found near Mobina Town police station on Feb 18.

They claimed that several people from the agency were either killed or missing in Karachi since long. They vowed that they would not keep silence on the killing of innocent residents of Bajaur Agency in Karachi.

They criticised the Sindh government and Karachi police for not taking steps to arrest the killers. They appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice of the case.
