KARACHI: Pakistan’s top racing lady driver Tushna Patel won the ladies title in the 13th Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally on Saturday.

Karachi-based Tushna, wife of leading driver Ronnie Patel, displayed her brilliant skills and control over the vehicle to lead the field.

She covered 90 kilometers distance in one hour and 44 minutes while Islamabad’s Asma Siddiqui secured second spot in 1hr 52 minutes while Momal Khan was third.

“It was a tough race but my vast experience of driving on different tracks helped me to win the title,” she said in a telephonic conversation with this correspondent from Cholistan.

Tushna said she enjoyed driving in all conditions but driving in desert is completely different compared to Gwadar, Jhal Magsi and Hub Rally.

Meanwhile, the men second round of competition over 226km will be held on Sunday. According to the unofficial results of the first round of 220 kms, defending champion Nadir Magsi finished first while Sahibzada Sultan Muhammad Ali was second and Babar Khan ended third.
