KARACHI, Jan 7: A motorcyclist was shot dead by unknown bandits in Mominabad on Monday night.

Police said unknown persons intercepted Tasbihul Hasnain in Sector 4-F, Mominabad, and tried to snatch his motorcycle.

As the victim offered resistance, the two hijackers opened fire and escaped. The victim who died on the spot was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem, police added.

Suicide: A young housewife committed suicide in her home in Manghopir on late Sunday night.

Police said the Hafeeza, aged 24, consumed insecticide after a quarrel with her husband Gul Mohammad.

The victim was brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where she was admitted for treatment.

However, she breathed her last on Monday morning, police added.

ROBBERIES: At least four holdup were committed during the last 24 hours, police said.

RAPE: A minor girl was allegedly raped by a landlord in Sachal police limits on Monday.

Police said that the girl, aged 8, was alone in her house, and her parents with other children were out of the house on Monday morning.

Salman Baloch, 45, allegedly entered the house of his tenants and allegedly raped the minor girl.

The suspect escaped after committing the crime, police said.

The victim was sent to the JPMC for an examination, police said.
