HYDERABAD, Jan 7: The city Nazim, Hyderabad, Haji Moinuddin Shaikh, stopped the anti-encroachment drive in the city on the intervention of the president, Anjuman Tajran-i-Sindh, Zakir Bin Zahid, and decided to remove the encroachments after consultation with the business leaders.

A meeting was scheduled to be held between the Nazim and the leaders of the business community on Jan 9 at Jinnah Hall.

In the ongoing campaign against encroachments on Monday, the municipal staff removed encroachments from Gari Khata, Station Road, Qila Chowk, Nusrat Bazaar, and Tulsi Das Road.

Since the anti-encroachment drive has created resentment among the business community, the business leaders have strongly protested to the Nazim who has held out an assurance that in future the encroachments will be removed after consulting leaders of the city traders.
