ISLAMABAD: A Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader has written to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman retired Justice Javed Iqbal a letter seeking investigation against Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif for alleged money laundering and other financial crimes.

The letter shared with the media was written by PTI deputy secretary general Usman Dar. “Much documentary evidence of corruption of Khawaja Asif is available and, therefore, NAB is requested to immediately start investigation against him,” said the letter.

Mr Dar said the defence minister had already accepted that he held an Iqama (work permit of the UAE), alleging that the PML-N leader was involved in money laundering. “Khawaja Asif has also been accused of concealing his offshore assets from the Election Commission of Pakistan,” the PTI leader said.
