TOBA TEK SINGH: Three robbers looted a cash of Rs1.3 million from a lawyer and his friend here on Tuesday near Pirmahal.

Lawyer Iqbal Hamjana told the police he and his friend Qazi Mansha were on their way to Sindhillianwali [hometown] by a car after receiving cash from Kamalia Sugar Mills against supply of sugarcane. Near Kamalia-Pirmahal bypass road, three suspects tried to stop them but they accelerated the vehicle. He said the robbers opened fire as a result tyres of their car burst and outlaws made off with cash and cell phones.

Later, members of Kamalia and Pirmahal tehsil bars observed strike in protest against the incident.
