January 22 is the first anniversary of the launch of Dawn’s Eos and Icon magazines. When we set out to restyle the Sunday reading for Dawn’s large and discerning readership, we had two goals in mind: bringing quality journalism and writing worth reading to the public on the one hand, and making the magazines visually striking in terms of design on the other. We also wanted to separate out the content of both magazines so that readers with different interests could choose which they wanted to pick up first — so while Eos would offer insightful commentary on society, trends and ideas, Icon would be the go-to source for credible news and views on the performing arts, moving pictures and celebrity. How far we’ve been able to achieve our goals is, of course, up to our readers to pass judgement on. But as we celebrate our first birthday, here’s a visual sample of the kinds of content and visual look we brought to you over the year. — Editor Magazines
