CHITRAL: An internally displaced person from Muzhgol village of upper Chitral has accused doctors at the district headquarters hospital here of misbehavior and refusing to treat his ailing wife.

Talking to mediapersons at Chitral Press Club, one Ali Mohammad, an internally displaced person from Muzhgol village, said that a doctor at the hospital advised diagnostic tests for his wife in the casualty ward, but refused to prescribe medicines for her.

Mr Ali said that when he told the doctor that the same tests had already been carried out he refused to go through the diagnostic report and asked him to come tomorrow. He said that he was admonished when he pressed with his demand for prescription of medicines.

“I approached another doctor on duty with the request to prescribe medicines for my wife, but he misbehaved with me and asked me to go to the doctor who had advised the tests,” he said.

Mr Ali said that he was a daily wage worker and was returning to his home along with his ailing wife when one of his coworkers came to his help and got her treated in a clinic. When contacted for his version, the hospital MS Dr Rahman Afridi said that he was in Peshawar and would look into the matter on his return to Chitral.
