GUJAR KHAN: The Gujar Khan police arrested a man who was impersonating an official of the army and recovered an illegal weapon, a mobile phone and a fake identity card from him.

The man was approached by the police as he sat in his car outside the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, police officials said.

When asked about his identity, the man introduced himself as a serving colonel in the Pakistan Army.

The police recovered a modified 30-bore pistol fitted with a laser gun and telescope, a fake identity card of the army, a fake arms license, a mobile phone, a knife, three magazines and 16 rounds of ammunition for the pistol. They also confiscated the car he was in as well.

The suspect has been identified as Syed Wajid Hussein Shah, a resident of Kot Syedan, Gujar Khan City and a case has been registered against him.
