TIMERGARA: MNA Sahibzada Mohammad Yaqoob Khan on Sunday said there was no dearth of talent in Lower Dir but the youth were faced with multiple challenges due to lack of facilities and opportunities.
He expressed these views while addressing a function after inaugurating Bashir Iqbal Cricket Academy at Malakabad Balamat.
Mr Yaqoob asked the provincial government to materialise its announcement of constructing a play ground for each union council. He said talent of youth was going waste due to non-availability of play grounds. He hoped that with the establishment of the cricket academy local youth would avail the opportunity of the popular sport.
He announced Rs100,000 and power transformer for the newly set up academy.
On the occasion, leaders of other parties also announced funds for the cricket academy.
CONFERENCE: Speakers at a conference on Sunday urged the Muslims to strictly follow the life of Muhammad (peace be upon him) as he was the ideal personality for whole of humanity.
The Seerat-un-Nabi conference was arranged by the Jamaat-i-Islami, Talash chapter at Jamia Masjid Kalpani.
The speakers said the ‘Khatam-i-Nabuwat’ was integral part of the faith of Muslims, adding life of the last prophet of Islam was like a candle for his followers.
The speakers demanded of the government to include topics on ‘Khatam-i- Nabuwat in school, college and university syllabi and also assign research paper to students of PhD and MPhil on the subject.
