BANNU: A youth was killed and two others were wounded when a ‘toy bomb’ went off in the dry bed of Kachkot River here on Saturday.

The victim, Shaukat Khan Marwat, and two brothers Tehsin and Hasnain were playing on the riverbed as the irrigation department has stopped water in it due to a desilting drive. They found a ball-like toy, and when they touched it the device exploded with a bang. As a result, Shaukat of Norang died on the spot, while the two brothers got injuries. The injured were shifted to the DHQ hospital Bannu, where their condition was stated to be stable.
