SUKKUR: A man was detained after his wife sustained serious burns in her house, located close the local police station, in Salehpat town on Thursday.

Mother of five, Nasreen Bhatti, was taken to the Sukkur civil hospital where doctors were trying hard to save her life.

The Salehpat police were informed that she sprinkled petrol over her body and set herself alight over domestic issues. Her brother, Musthaq Bhatti, however, alleged that it was her husband, Irfan Bhatti, who sprinkled petrol over her with the intention to kill her.
