LAHORE: The chief minister has removed the Kasur district police officer and made him an OSD in the wake of the murder of a minor girl and police firing at the people protesting against the incident.

He has also constituted a joint investigation team headed by Additional IG Abu Bakar Khuda Bakhsh. This team will submit its report to the chief minister within 24 hours.

Condemning the tragic incident, he vowed that the criminals won’t escape clutches of law.

“Provision of justice to the bereaved family is my responsibility and I’ll not sit idle,” Shahbaz said in a statement.

He has also expressed his deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of two persons due to the firing and extended sympathies to the bereaved families.

He said investigation into the firing incident had been ordered.
