KARACHI, May 6: The vice-chancellor of the Dow University of Health Sciences has appointed Dr Salahuddin Afsar as principal of the Dow Medical College.

Earlier, the office of the principal was being additionally held by the vice-chancellor himself. Prior to the latest elevation, Dr Salahuddin, who joined the DMC in 1986, was chairman of the Medicine department of the university. The new principal assumed the new office on May 4. He said his primary focus would be on upgrading the academic standards in the institution.
