Khareed is a business-to-business services tech startup that aims to make corporate procurement easier for businesses in Pakistan.

The SaaS procurement and trade services platform has been designed for mid and large level corporate enterprises, as well as for supply vendors aiming to take their products online.

An overview of the portal.

Currently there are more than 3,000 products listed on the portal in categories such as machinery, construction materials, and hardware equipment, by over 500 registered vendors. It offers customers competitive rates online via quotations from different vendors, with the aim to cut down the hassle of looking for suppliers and negotiating prices.

Two years down the road, the procurement services firm reports working with 40 corporate clients who are using the platform for sourcing of around Rs100 million worth of goods every month.

Individuals who are looking to purchase expensive items such as household appliances, generators, construction materials or hardware can also use Khareed to get clarity on prices with their free-to-use quote form.

The UAE based startup has also developed a cloud procurement software which they claim is comparable in functionality to those designed by companies like SAP and Oracle, for less than a tenth the cost.

Haroon Sethi, the founder and CEO of Khareed, has worked for three years in the manufacturing sector in Pakistan and eight years as a consultant with McKinsey prior to launching the company. "Our mission is to help professionalise the way business is conducted in Pakistan, increasing price transparency and promoting more reliable and trustworthy commerce," he says.
