LAHORE:Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar has expressed concern over the purchase of a bulletproof car for the chief executive officer of the Punjab Saaf Pani Company.

“How the head of a public company will need a bulletproof vehicle,” the CJP posed a query to the advocate general while hearing the private medical colleges case on Tuesday and directed him to submit record of the car.

Earlier, the law officer had stated that the bulletproof car was purchased for the use of foreign consultants working with the company.

The CJP also rejected the criticism made on his recent visit to a public hospital in Lahore and observed that there would be no compromise on basic rights of the citizens, including clean water, education and health.

Hearing of a suo motu about provision of clean drinking water is already fixed for Dec 28 (tomorrow).
