Khalil, Shabbir share honours

LAHORE, May 3: Two more finals were decided on the second day of the Punjab Inter-district athletics championships at the Punjab Stadium on Tuesday. Mohammad Khalil of Sialkot won the discus throw final after throwing the discus to a distance of 54.29 metres. Zafar Ali (Sargodha) and Shahzad Khan (Gujranwala) finished second and third. Shabbir Ahmed of Rawalpindi claimed the first position in the triple-jump when he jumped 12.49 metres. Fakhar (Hafizabad) and Ameer Hamza (Rawalpindi) were the second and the third. On Wednesday, three finals of high-jump, shot putt, and 3,000m race will be held.
