Another cell phone service

LAHORE, Jan 6: A UAE based satellite telecommunication company on Sunday announced the launch of its mobile satellite telecommunications/GSM services in Pakistan.

Starting in 2001, Thuraya offers its mobile satellite telecommunications/GSM services in 99 countries across the Indian Sub-continent, Central Asia, the Middle East, North and Central Africa and Europe. The $1.12 billion company is owned by a consortium of 18 investors, including the PTCL which owns $1 million shareholding.
