According to the weekly statement of position of all scheduled banks for the week ended November30, deposits and other accounts of all scheduled banks stood at Rs11,969.466 billion after a 1.80 per cent increase over the preceding week’s figure of Rs11,759.157bn. Compared with last year’s corresponding figure of Rs10,555.726bn, the current week’s figure was higher by 13.40pc.
Deposits and other accounts of all commercial banks stood at Rs11,877.726bn against preceding week’s deposits of Rs11,668.518bn, showing a rise of 1.80pc. Deposits and other accounts of specialised banks stood at Rs91.741bn, higher by 1.21pc against previous week’s figure of Rs90.639bn.
Total assets of all scheduled banks stood at Rs17,139.251bn, higher by 0.74pc over preceding week’s figure of Rs17,012.621bn. Current week’s figure is higher by 20.70pc compared to last year’s corresponding figure of Rs14,199.458bn.
Total assets of all commercial banks stood at Rs16,847.061bn, higher by 0.76pc over previous week’s figure of Rs16,719.581bn, while total assets of specialised banks at Rs292.190bn were higher 0.30pc over the previous week’s Rs.293.040bn.
Total assets were higher by 0.74pc over preceding week’s figure
Borrowings by all scheduled banks decreased in the week under review. It fell by 1.85pc to Rs3,005.065bn against previous week’s Rs3,061.659bn. Compared to last year’s corresponding figure of Rs1,587.933bn, current week’s figure is higher by 89.24pc.
Borrowings by commercial banks in the week at Rs2,902.385bn were lower by 1.80pc against previous week’s Rs2,955.651bn. Borrowings by specialised banks stood at Rs102.680bn against the previous week’s figure of Rs106.008bn.
Investments of all scheduled banks stood at Rs8,475.162bn against preceding week’s figure of Rs8,463.105bn, higher by 0.14pc. Compared to last year’s corresponding figure of Rs7,052.403bn, current week’s figure is higher by 20.20pc.
Investments by all commercial banks stood at Rs8,380.731bn, higher by 0.14pc against preceding week’s figure of Rs8,368.699bn, whereas investment by all specialised banks stood at Rs.94.431bn against preceding week’s figure of Rs94.406bn.
