MURREE: After a long dry spell, Murree and its adjoining areas received six inches of snow on Tuesday and more is expected in the night, according to Met office.

In Galiyat, snow started falling on Monday evening and continued with regular interval, and in a short span about a foot snow had fallen in the region.

A large number of tourists thronged the hill station to witness the snowfall.

Traffic police claimed to have made arrangements for smooth flow of traffic during the snowfall and advised tourists not to visit Murree after eight in the night and must come in properly maintained vehicles otherwise would face problems during the snowy weather.

Highway machinery has already been there to remove snow from the roads, and salt was thrown on roads to avoid slip.

Snow falling is very good for the environment especially for the increase of water table in rural areas.

The traders business also depends on snowfall as a good number of tourists visit Murree.
