THIS refers to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah’s argument in the Supreme Court that he should not be singled out on the water issue, for it was a problem also being faced by Punjab.
This argument does not absolve him of his responsibilities. He was not asked by the court about what was happening in Punjab. He is responsible for Sindh.
Instead, he should concede his failure in dealing with the water issue. He should prepare a plan to overcome the water crisis in the province while seeking the court’s help wherever it is needed. Realising the problem and accepting it is half the solution to the problem.
I hope the Sindh government will take appropriate action on this issue and will not play politics.
