HYDERABAD: Little-known Mohajir Ittehad Tehreek (MIT) has announced that it will observe ‘Mohajir Cultural Day’ on the occasion of birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah on Dec 25.

“After Dec 25 this year, the MIT will celebrate the day every year,” said MIT chairman Dr Saleem Haider at a seminar on ‘Mardam shumari shehri awam ki nazar mai’ held at the local press club on Tuesday evening.

He called for conducting the census afresh and said people would not accept this “fake censes”. Mohajirs could not be deprived of their basic rights and only MIT was a party of Mohajirs while all other groups were in reality “eggs” spawned by Muttahida Qaumi Movement which had destroyed this great nation, he said.

MQM transformed into a mafia in the wake of the 1992 operation. The MQM founder used to boast that he had 100,000 loyal workers who could do anything for him but they were nowhere to be seen today, he said.
