KARACHI: Flour prices for Ramazan

KARACHI, Oct 20: A meeting of the Flour Mills Association (Sindh Circle) was held with the secretary of food here on Monday to fix flour prices for Ramazan.

After consensus, the following decisions were taken:

The flour mills shall sell Atta at ex-mill rate of Rs10 per kg in packing of 80 kgs, 40 kgs, 20 kgs, 10 kgs and 5 kgs (gross), with immediate effect.

The flour mills shall also directly sell Atta at their gates, through special fair price shops, and weekly bazaars organized by the city government, in retail at the rate of Rs 10 per kg.

Only one brand of Atta shall be produced by flour mills, so as to ensure uniform quality.

The flour mills shall ensure stencilling of ex-mill price on each packing.

Additional allocation of 10,000 tonnes was allowed for Sukkur Region for the month of October. Another allocation of 10,000 tonnes was made for interior of Sindh and 10,000 tonnes for Karachi Region for November.—APP
