CHAKWAL: A man allegedly shot dead his 18-year-old sister in Tatral village, police sources said on Wednesday.

The body was found lying beside a road. The accused managed to flee from the village.

According to sources, family members of the deceased tried their best to get a murder case registered under sections which would allow the accused to be freed soon.

However, a case was registered on behalf of the state with in charge, Homicide Investigation Unit, Sub-Inspector Mansoor Mazhar becoming the complainant.

“Section 311 dealing with honour killing was also included along with section 302 which deals with intentional murder,” Mansoor Mazhar said.

District Police Officer Mohammad Haroon Joiya told Dawn that the accused would be arrested soon.
