COLOMBO, Aug 27: Inspired spells by pacemen Riaz Afridi and Adeel Malik bowled Pakistan to an easy eight wickets victory over Sri Lanka in the second Under-19 one-day at Uyanwatte Stadium, Matara, on Wednesday.

Bowling with hostility, Man of the Match Riaz, grabbed five for 29 and Adeel finished with four for 21 as the home side were shot out for 85 in 24.2 overs.

The victory gave the tourist 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

G.T. de Silva was the only Sri Lankan batsman to play the with any degree of confidence and his score of 44 represented more than half of the team’s total.

The home side was in fact reduced to 15 for eight wickets before de Silva was joined by Mathews and together they added useful 56 runs for the ninth wicket to give the total some semblance.

The visitors knocked off the required runs in 15.2 overs with opener Jamshed Nasir contributing undefeated 48 from 45 deliveries with the aid of six fours and two sixes.
