FAISALABAD, Aug 27: The Punjab Medical College students blocked traffic and staged a protest demonstration against the Punjab University and the University of the Health Sciences for not accepting admission forms of four students to take MBBS examinations.

They gathered outside the college, wore black arm-bands and chanted slogans against the managements of both the universities.

They blocked the Jail Road by erecting barricades. They threatened a sit-in in front of the Punjab Assembly if the students were not allowed to take the examination.

Student leaders said Shafiq Ahmad, Ataullah Qasmi, Bashir Ahmad and Azhar Aslam had moved the Supreme Court which allowed them to take the MBBS examination under the auspices of Punjab University. But the PU administration committed contempt of court by disallowing them to submit admission forms.
