PESHAWAR: Police on Tuesday arrested three men and recovered a kidnapped transgender person within few hours.

Regi SDPO Rahim Hussain told a press conference that the incident of kidnapping had taken place in the limits of Nasir Bagh police station late on Monday. He said that four transgender persons were returning from a music concert in Sakhi Pul area, close to the border of Khyber Agency, when five motorcyclists intercepted their vehicle on Nasir Bagh Road and opened fire on them and forcibly took away one of them.

Mr Hussain said that the armed men also took away about Rs26,000 and a mobile phone at gunpoint from the transgender persons.

He said that following the incident, police conducted search operation in the area and recovered the abducted transgender person and kidnapped the three men. He said that the transgender person told police that two people assaulted him after the abduction.
