KARACHI, Aug 27: ‘Pakistan Ideology’ was the theme of the deliberations held at the launching of the book‘Rahbran-i- Pakistan’ at the Arts Council on Tuesday. Based on the articles of Syed Mohammad Razi Abdali, the book has been jointly sponsored by Adbi Committee Arts Council and Abdali Academy.

City Nazim Naimatullah Khan presided over the assembly while Dr Hafizur Rahman Siddiqui was the chief guest. The other speakers included Hafiz Nasimuddin and Sajjad Mir, a known journalist.

The city Nazim, speaking on the occasion, said that despite the passage of 56 years, the Muslims in the minority areas of India, who were most active in Pakistan Movement, were still insecure.

Karachi, he said, was an “ideological” city and efforts must be made to boost up Islamic ideology, as the power was being transferred to those who are faithful to the ideology.

Dr Hafizur Rahman Siddiqui recalled the great contribution of the Islamic ideology in the demolition of “Godless Russia” with the support of the United States.

Sajjad Mir admired the writer for his admiration in recalling the leaders of Pakistan Movement, most of whom, he said, were now being forgotten, like Maulana Akram Khan and some others.

The book includes late G.M. Syed as well, as he introduced the Pakistan Resolution in Sindh Assembly and got it approved by the House.

The other speakers included Hafiz Nasimuddin and Naqqash Kazmi, chairman Adbi Committee, both of them expressed strong faith in the ideology of Pakistan.

The meeting, scheduled to start at 5.30pm, started after Maghrib prayers, late by more than ninety minutes, a common practice at the Pakistan Arts Council— this time because of delayed arrival of the city Nazim. Mansoor Alam Khan did the compering.—Hasan Abidi
